DTC P2530-12: IG2 Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off and turn on the high beam headlights for 30 seconds. This will remove the surface charge from the auxiliary battery.
    • Measure the auxiliary battery voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal - Negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 20°C (68°F), Ignition switch off 12.0 V or higher

  2. CHARGE OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Charge or replace the auxiliary battery.

  3. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 15 seconds or more.
    • Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

      P2530-12 is not output B

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

    • Check for DTCs.

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  7. CHECK ECM

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the ECM connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

  8. CHECK TCM

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Disconnect the TCM connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the TCM connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

  9. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

    • Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Reconnect the air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

  10. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT EQUALIZER ASSEMBLY

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Disconnect the stereo component equalizer assembly connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Reconnect the stereo component equalizer assembly connector.

  11. CHECK NETWORK GATEWAY ECU

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Disconnect the network gateway ECU connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the network gateway ECU connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  12. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    • Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    Result: 

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  13. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

    • Disconnect the transmission floor shift assembly connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Reconnect the transmission floor shift assembly connector.

  14. INSPECT RELAY (IGP-NO. 1)

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Remove the IGP NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Install the IGP NO. 1 relay.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    1. Check for intermittent problems.

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [09/2023 - ]

      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
      2. When the ignition switch is ON (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    Result: 

    NG
