DTC P0CDF-11: Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Coolant Control Valve "A" Control Circuit Low Circuit Short to Ground; DTC P0CDF-15: Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Coolant Control Valve "A" Control Circuit High Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery or Open [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY (SNVB VOLTAGE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair Service Information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Connect the SST.

      HINT: 

      Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [12/2023 - ]

    • Disconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      j7-1 (VHMV) - j7-2 (VD) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V
      j7-1 (VHMV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V
      NOTE:
      • Turning the ignition switch to ON with the service plug grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
      • If the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connectors disconnected, other DTCs will be stored. Be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Reconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the SST.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 MAGNET VALVE ASSEMBLY 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    Post-procedure1

    • Install the No. 2 magnet valve assembly.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 MAGNET VALVE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAGNET VALVE ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair Service Information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Disconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Reconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAGNET VALVE ASSEMBLY - BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair Service Information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Connect the SST.

      HINT: 

      Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [12/2023 - ]

    • Disconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Disconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.
      NOTE:

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the tables below.

      Standard Resistance

    • Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      j4-10 (SNVB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V
      NOTE:
      • Turning the ignition switch to ON with the service plug grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
      • If the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connectors disconnected, other DTCs will be stored. Be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Reconnect the No. 2 magnet valve assembly connector.
    • Reconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the SST.

    OK 

    REPLACE BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]
