DTC P0E6D-11: Hybrid/EV Battery Charging System Precharge Contactor Control Circuit Short to Ground [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair Service Information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Disconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the tables below.

      (to Battery ECU Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      j4-7 (CHRP) - Body ground Ignition switch off 140 to 290 Ω Ω

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    NG

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    CONNECT SECURELY

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair Service Information because this may cause a malfunction.

    • Disconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Disconnect the No. 2 traction battery device box assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the tables below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      j15-2 (CHRP) and j4-7 (CHRP) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the No. 2 traction battery device box assembly connector.
    • Reconnect the battery ECU assembly connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
