Fuel Lid Opener does not Operate [09/2023 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Using the GTS, check that DTCs related to the close tank valve assembly or vapor pressure sensor are not output.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

      Activate the Fuel Filler Opener Activate fuel lid with motor lock assembly OFF or ON -

      Activate the Fuel Filler Opener

      The fuel lid with motor lock assembly operates normally.

  3. INSPECT FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY)

    REPLACE FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) - ECM AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D23 fuel lid opener switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the B77 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D23-3 (B) - B77-51 (FUEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      D23-6 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D23-3 (B) or B77-51 (FUEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. INSPECT FUEL LID WITH MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (FUEL LID COURTESY SWITCH) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [09/2023 - ]

    REPLACE FUEL LID WITH MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID WITH MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - ECM AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J10 fuel lid with motor lock assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B77 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J10-3 (B) - B77-23 (LIDO) Always Below 1 Ω
      J10-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      J10-3 (B) or B77-23 (LIDO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK CLOSE TANK VALVE ASSEMBLY OR FUEL TANK VENT HOSE 
    1. Check the close tank valve assembly or fuel tank vent hose for clogging.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [09/2023 - ]

      OK

      The close tank valve assembly or fuel tank vent hose is not clogged.

      Result

    REMOVE THE CLOGGING

  8. INSPECT CLOSE TANK VALVE ASSEMBLY

    1. Replace the vapor pressure sensor with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  10. CHECK FUEL LID OPENER OPERATION 
    1. Check the fuel lid opener operation.

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID WITH MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J10 fuel lid with motor lock assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the J48 power distribution box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J10-1 (B) - J48-29 Always Below 1 Ω
      J10-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      J10-1 (B) or J48-29 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the B58 power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the C27 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B58-16 - C27-15 (FREL) Always Below 1 Ω
      B58-16 or C27-15 (FREL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the B58, B57 and D62 power distribution box assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B57-1 - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      B58-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Standard Resistance

      D62-36 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  15. INSPECT POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY (FUEL OPN RELAY)

    1. Remove the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B57-1 - J48-29 Voltage applied between terminals B58-1 and B58-16 Below 1 Ω
      B57-1 - J48-29 Voltage not applied between terminals B58-1 and B58-16 10 kΩ or higher
      D62-36 - J48-29 Voltage not applied between terminals B58-1 and B58-16 Below 1 Ω
      D62-36 - J48-29 Voltage applied between terminals B58-1 and B58-16 10 kΩ or higher

      Result
