DTC C0500-14: Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Short to Ground or Open [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (MOMENTARY INTERRUPTION) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Select the line graph display on the GTS.
    • Check for any momentary interruption in the wire harness and connector.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the B22 front speed sensor LH connector.
    • Disconnect the B34 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B22-2 (FL+) - B34-22 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B22-2 (FL+) or B34-22 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B22-1 (FL-) - B34-21 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B22-1 (FL-) or B34-21 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Reconnect the B34 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B22-2 (FL+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V

  5. CHECK SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the B80 and BB1 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B80-3 (FL+) - BB1-5 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B80-3 (FL+) or BB1-5 (FL+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B80-1 (FL-) - BB1-6 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B80-1 (FL-) or BB1-6 (FL-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B34 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      BB1-5 (FL+) - B34-22 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      BB1-5 (FL+) or B34-22 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      BB1-6 (FL-) - B34-21 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω Ω

    • Reconnect the BB1 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      B80-3 (FL+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V
