DTC P2530-12: IG2 Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off and turn on the high beam headlights for 30 seconds. This will remove the surface charge from the auxiliary battery.
    • Measure the auxiliary battery voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      Positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal - Negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 20°C (68°F), Ignition switch off 11.0 V or higher V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • None.

    Result:

  2. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 15 seconds or more.
    • Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      P2530-12 is not output B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

    • Check for DTCs.

  5. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

  6. CHECK ECM 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly)
    • Disconnect the ECM connectors.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      D117-26 (IGP) - D117-1 (E1) Ignition switch off 9 V or higher V

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the ECM connectors.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

  7. INSPECT IGP NO. 1 RELAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Remove the IGP NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    Post-procedure1

    • Install the IGP NO. 1 relay.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    1. Check for intermittent problems.

      Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2023 - ]

      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
      2. When the ignition switch is ON (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  9. CHARGE OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Charge or replace the auxiliary battery.

      Result

      Proceed to
