Registration [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. A/T CODE REGISTRATION (ARBITRARY CODE) 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the transaxle with motor and inverter assembly or the transaxle assembly with motor, perform A/T Code Registration (Arbitrary Code) after replacing the part.

    1. Record the compensation code (2 rows and 3 columns (upper 2 rows) and 4 rows and 4 columns (lower 4 rows) split into 5-digit codes, for a total of 108 digits) printed on the transaxle compensation code label on the service part.

    2. Complete the replacement.
    3. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
    4. Make sure the shift state is in park (P) and turn the ignition switch to ON.
      NOTE:
      • Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
      • Do not operate the shift lever or ignition switch until the task is completed.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / A/T Code Registration (Arbitrary Code).

      Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

    6. Using the on-screen buttons, enter the compensation code recorded on the transaxle compensation code label.

    7. Confirm the input compensation code is the same as the transaxle compensation code label and press "Next".
    8. Check the screen to see that the operation is complete.
  2. A/T CODE REGISTRATION 
    1. A/T Code Registration (Read Compensation Code) and A/T Code Registration (Register Compensation Code (Automatic Input))
      NOTE:
      • When replacing the TCM, perform A/T Code Registration (Read Compensation Code) prior to replacing the part, and then perform A/T Code Registration (Register Compensation Code (Automatic Input)) after replacing the TCM.
      • Do not manually enter the compensation code from the transaxle compensation code label on the vehicle transaxle assembly with motor.
      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
      2. Make sure the shift state is in park (P) and turn the ignition switch to ON.
        NOTE:
        • Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
        • Do not operate the shift lever or ignition switch until the task is completed.
      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / A/T Code Registration.

        Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

      4. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Read Compensation Code" and then press "Next".
      5. After reading the compensation code, press "Yes" to record the compensation code on the GTS.

        HINT: 

        If a compensation code is already saved on the GTS, check the save date before overwriting.

      6. Record the save date and press "Exit".
      7. Turn the ignition switch off and replace the TCM.
      8. After the replacement is complete, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / A/T Code Registration.

        Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

      9. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Set Compensation Code" and then press "Next".
      10. Record the save date and press "Exit".
      11. Check the screen to see that the operation is complete.
      12. Clear the DTCs.
        NOTE:

        After replacing the TCM, turning the ignition switch to ON causes DTCs to be stored. Be sure to clear the DTCs.

  3. K0/WSC LEARNING VALUE REGISTRATION 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the TCM, perform K0/WSC Learning Value Registration if the K0/WSC learning value can be read prior to replacing the part.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
    2. Make sure the shift state is in park (P) and turn the ignition switch to ON.
      NOTE:
      • Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
      • Do not operate the shift lever or ignition switch until the task is completed.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / K0/WSC Learning Value Registration.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

    4. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Read Learning Value" and then press "Next".
    5. Store the learning value in the GTS.

      HINT: 

      If a learning value is already saved on the GTS, check the save date before overwriting.

    6. Check the save date and press "Yes".
    7. Turn the ignition switch off and replace the TCM.
    8. After the replacement is complete, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / K0/WSC Learning Value Registration.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

    9. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Write Learning Value" and then press "Next".
    10. According to the screen display, check that learning value registration is complete.
  4. WSC DETERIORATION ESTIMATE REGISTRATION 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the TCM, perform WSC Deterioration Estimate Registration if the WSC friction material deterioration indicator can be read prior to replacing the part.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
    2. Make sure the shift state is in park (P) and turn the ignition switch to ON.
      NOTE:
      • Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
      • Do not operate the shift lever or ignition switch until the task is completed.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / WSC Deterioration Estimate Registration.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

    4. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Read Estimate Value" and then press "Next".
    5. Store the indicator value in the GTS.

      HINT: 

      If an indicator value is already saved on the GTS, check the save date before overwriting.

    6. Record the save date and press "Exit".
    7. Turn the ignition switch off and replace the TCM.
    8. After the replacement is complete, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / WSC Deterioration Estimate Registration.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Utility

    9. Check what is displayed on the screen, select "Write Estimate Value" and then press "Next".
    10. According to the screen display, check that indicator value registration is complete.
