    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  3

  3. CHECK NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY (BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR (IBL))
    WARNING:

Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Connect the SST.

      HINT:

Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [12/2023 - ]

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Procedure1

    5. Using a Toyota electrical tester set to 40 V, measure the VIB voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Tester Connection Condition
j4-4 (VIB) - j4-14 (GIB) Ignition switch ON
      NOTE:
      • Turning the ignition switch to ON with the service plug grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
      • Be sure to set the Toyota electrical tester to 40 V when performing this test.

    6. Using a Toyota electrical tester set to 4 V, measure the IBL voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Tester Connection Condition
j4-15 (IBL) - j4-14 (GIB) Ignition switch ON
      NOTE:

Be sure to set the Toyota electrical tester to 4 V when performing this test.

    7. Compare the measured values of the IBL terminal voltage and VIB terminal voltage using the following formula:
      Condition
      IBL voltage - 0.5 X VIB voltage = less than 0.05 V
      IBL voltage - 0.5 X VIB voltage = -0.05 V or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
Within the specified range above A
      Other than above B

      Post-procedure1

    8. Turn the ignition switch off.
    9. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    10. Disconnect the SST.

    Result:

REPLACE NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

    See step  4

  4. REPLACE BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY
