Removal [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  2. REMOVE FUEL TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
  8. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the inverter with converter assembly.

      1. Move the lock lever as shown in the illustration and disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
        NOTE:
        • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
        • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or inverter with converter assembly during disconnection.
        • Cover the hole where the cable was connected with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent entry of foreign matter.
        • Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.
  9. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Green-colored Lock - -
      Slide - -
      1. Using a screwdriver, slide the green-colored lock of the connector as shown in the illustration to release it and disconnect the floor under wire.

      *a Waterproof Seal - -
      1. Disconnect the floor under wire from the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
        • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or hybrid motor control inverter assembly during disconnection.
        • Cover the hole where the cable was connected with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent entry of foreign matter.
        • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.
        • Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.
  10. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY 
  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  13. REMOVE HV SUPPLY BATTERY ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

  14. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER BASE BRACKET

  16. REMOVE JUNCTION BLOCK COVER 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 3 HIGH VOLTAGE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
        NOTE:

        If the stud clamps is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.

      2. Remove the nut and disconnect the No. 3 high voltage floor under wire.

      1. Remove the 2 nuts.
      2. Remove the stud clamp.
        NOTE:

        If the stud clamp is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.

      3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the No. 3 high voltage floor under wire from the floor panel hole.
  18. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected high-voltage connector with insulating tape.

      1. Disconnect the 6 connectors.
        NOTE:

        Insulate the disconnected high-voltage connector with insulating tape.

      2. Remove the 3 nuts.
      3. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the floor under wire.
      4. Disengage the 2 clamps.
  19. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  20. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  21. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      1. Using a screwdriver, slide the green-colored lock of the connector as shown in the illustration to release it and disconnect the connector.
      2. Disengage the 3 clamps.

      Remove in this Direction Slide
      1. Disengage the guide, 2 claws and remove the No. 1 terminal cap.
      2. Using a screwdriver, slide the green-colored lock of the connector as shown in the illustration to release it and disconnect the connector.
      3. Remove the 2 nuts.
      4. Disengage the 2 claws and clamp.

      1. Remove the 3 bolts and 13 nuts.
      2. Remove the 6 stud clamps.
        NOTE:

        If the stud clamps is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.

      3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the floor under wire from the floor panel hole.
  22. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS PROTECTOR COVER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the wire harness protector cover is necessary.

      1. Remove the stud clamp and wire harness protector cover.
        NOTE:

        If the stud clamps are removed forcibly, the stud bolts may be damaged.

  23. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the wire harness clamp bracket is necessary.

  24. REMOVE UPPER INVERTER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.

  25. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.

      1. Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage between the terminals of the 2 phase connectors.

        Standard Voltage

        0 V

        HINT: 

        Use a measuring range of DC 750 V or more on the voltmeter.

  26. REMOVE NO. 3 HIGH VOLTAGE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.
