Installation [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 LIQUID TUBE

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 3 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the No. 2 liquid tube.

        Compressor Oil

        ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

        NOTE:

        Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

      2. Install the 3 O-rings to the No. 2 liquid tube.
        NOTE:

        Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free of foreign matter.

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf)

      1. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 2 magnet valve assembly to the No. 2 liquid tube with the bolt.

        Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL NO. 3 LIQUID TUBE

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the No. 3 liquid tube.

        Compressor Oil

        ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

        NOTE:

        Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

      2. Install the O-ring to the No. 3 liquid tube.
        NOTE:

        Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free of foreign matter.

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 LIQUID TUBE

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the No. 1 liquid tube.

        Compressor Oil

      2. Install the O-ring to the No. 1 liquid tube.

      1. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 liquid tube to the No. 2 magnet valve assembly with the bolt.

        Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 4 LIQUID TUBE

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the No. 4 liquid tube.

        Compressor Oil

        ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

        NOTE:

        Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

      2. Install the O-ring to the No. 4 liquid tube.
        NOTE:

        Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free of foreign matter.

      Bolt A 

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      Torque: 3.4 N.m (35 kgf/cm, 30 in.lbf) 

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CONDITIONING THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

      1. Attach the 2 new No. 1 Insulator Retainer to the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Installing the new No. 1 insulator retainer with some double-sided tape remaining from the removed No. 1 insulator retainer may cause poor temperature measurement (caution light turns on). Perform this procedure until sufficiently removed.

      2. Engage the 3 clamps to connect the No. 1 air conditioning thermistor assembly to the bracket.
  6. INSTALL DISCHARGE TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Attach the new each insulator retainer to the position shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Installing the new No. 1 insulator retainer with some double-sided tape remaining from the removed No. 1 insulator retainer may cause poor temperature measurement (caution light turns on). Perform this procedure until sufficiently removed.

  7. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR 

    See step  1

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 TRACTION BATTERY COOLER TUBE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    NOTE:

    Do not apply excessive force to the pipe.

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 3 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the No. 1 traction battery cooler tube.

        Compressor Oil

        ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

        NOTE:

        Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

      2. Install the 3 O-rings to the No. 1 traction battery cooler tube.
        NOTE:

        Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free of foreign matter.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length - -
      1. Install the No. 1 traction battery cooler tube with the 2 bolts (A) and 3 nuts.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Using the 10 mm union nut wrench, install the bolt (B).

        Specified tightening torque 

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

        HINT: 

        • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

          Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2023 - ]

        • When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.378 in.)): 6.6 N.m (67 kgf/cm, 58 in.lbf)
  9. INSTALL NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY COOLER TUBE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    NOTE:

    Do not apply excessive force to the pipe.

      1. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 3 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the No. 2 traction battery cooler tube.

        Compressor Oil

        ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

        NOTE:

        Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

      2. Install the 3 O-rings to the No. 2 traction battery cooler tube.
        NOTE:

        Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surface free of foreign matter.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length - -
      1. Install the No. 2 traction battery cooler tube with the bolt (A).

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      2. Using the 10 mm union nut wrench, install the 2 bolts (B).

        Specified tightening torque 

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

        HINT: 

        • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

          Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2023 - ]

        • When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.378 in.)): 6.6 N.m (67 kgf/cm, 58 in.lbf)
      3. Engage the clamp.
  10. INSPECT REFRIGERANT LEAK

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2023 - ]
