DTC B1498-87: A/C Inverter Local Missing Message [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P058A-01 and P162B-87 are not output A
      P058A-01 or P162B-87 is output B

    Result:

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Do not disconnect the connector on the high-voltage side.

    NOTE:

    As other DTCs will be stored when the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connector disconnected, be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the C34 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C34-1 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the C34 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the B88 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C34-3 (DOUT) - B88-16 (LIN3) Always Below 1 Ω Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the C92 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the f7 and f8 No. 1 junction block assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C92-2 (PB) - f7-1 (PB) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C92-1 (PE) - f8-1 (PE) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C92-2 (PB) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  5. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the I23 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes

      B1498-87 is output B

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result:

    REPLACE BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL)

    • Connect the I23 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the C34 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    • Check for DTCs.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B88 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the C34 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the I23 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B88-16 (LIN3) - C34-3 (DOUT) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B88-16 (LIN3) - I23-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B88-16 (LIN3) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ
      C34-3 (DOUT) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ
      I23-2 (LIN) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher kΩ
