Check Bus 7 Line [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN MAIN BUS LINES 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-5 (CA8H) - D48-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 70 Ω

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS LINE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-5 (CA8H) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      D48-6 (CA8L) - Body ground

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS LINE (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D59 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-2 (CAN+) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      D59-1 (CAN-) - Body ground

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN COMPATIBLE OPTIONAL DEVICES

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU) - CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 

  7. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-5 (CA8H) - Battery positive terminal Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      D48-6 (CA8L) - Battery positive terminal

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  8. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D59 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-2 (CAN+) - Battery positive terminal Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      D59-1 (CAN-) - Battery positive terminal

    1. Disconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-5 (CA8H) - D48-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

  10. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS LINES (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Reconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the D59 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-2 (CAN+) - D59-1 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN COMPATIBLE OPTIONAL DEVICES

  11. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN MAIN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-5 (CA8H) - D48-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    1. Reconnect the D48 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the D59 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-2 (CAN+) - D59-1 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
