DTC P2C90-00: Crankcase Ventilation System - Hose "A" Disconnected [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2C90-00) 
    1. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P2C90-00 and other DTCs are output A
      P2C90-00 is output B
      NOTE:

      If the Freeze Frame Data "Initial Engine Coolant Temperature" is 0°C (0°F) or less, the hose may be temporarily clogged due to freezing

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P2C90-00 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK PCV FRESH AIR LINE (CYLINDER HEAD COVER - AIR INLET DUCT, VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

    1. Check the PCV hose connections.

      OK

      PCV hose is connected correctly.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    SECURELY RECONNECTION PCV HOSE 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK PCV FRESH AIR LINE (CYLINDER HEAD COVER - AIR INLET DUCT) 
    1. Check the PCV hose clogged and damaged.

      OK

      PCV hose is not clogged and damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CLEAN OR REPLACE PCV HOSE 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK PCV FRESH AIR LINE (VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY - CYLINDER HEAD COVER) 
    1. Check the PCV hose clogged and damaged.

      OK

      PCV hose is not clogged and damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CLEAN OR REPLACE PCV HOSE 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT AIR INLET DUCT 
    1. Inspect the air inlet duct.

      OK

      PCV fresh air port of the air inlet duct is not clogged and damaged.

      Result

    CLEAN OR REPLACE AIR INLET DUCT 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT CYLINDER HEAD COVER 
    1. Inspect the cylinder head cover.

      OK

      PCV fresh air port and vacuum sensor assembly port of the cylinder head cover is not clogged and damaged.

    CLEAN OR REPLACE CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  7. INSPECT VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  8. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C13-3 (VCC) - C26-73 (VCVG) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C13-1 (FG) - C26-75 (VG) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C13-2 (E2G) - C26-74 (E2G) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C13-3 (VCC) or C26-73 (VCVG) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C13-1 (FG) or C26-75 (VG) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C13-2 (E2G) or C26-74 (E2G) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the vacuum sensor assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C12-3 (VC) - C26-86 (V1PC) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C12-2 (PPC1) - C26-66 (PPC1) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C12-1 (E2) - C26-64 (E1PC) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C12-3 (VC) or C26-86 (V1PC) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
