Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN COOLANT (for Inter cooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  2. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    See step  2
  4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2023 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25
  7. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  9. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  10. DISCONNECT PURGE VALVE (NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY)

      1. Remove the throttle body gasket from the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly.

  17. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Sensor 1)

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 3 TURBO WATER HOSE

  22. SEPARATE CONVERTER WITH CATALYST ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

      1. Remove the nut and disconnect the exhaust pipe clamp.
      2. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the converter with catalyst assembly.
      3. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolts from the manifold stay.

  24. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

      1. Remove the 2 nuts from the bottom of the vehicle and disconnect the No. 1 turbo oil pipe from the turbocharger sub-assembly.
      2. Rotate the converter with catalyst assembly in vehicle outer side to secure removal space.
      3. Remove the 4 nuts.
      4. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 stud bolts from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
