Reassembly [09/2023 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Bolt(A) 

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt(B) 

      Torque: 9.5 N.m (97 kgf/cm, 84 in.lbf) 

      Nut 

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  3. INSTALL SUSPENSION TOWER DAMPER (w/ Suspension Tower Damper) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
  4. CONNECT FRONT FENDER LINER LH 
  5. CONNECT FRONT FENDER LINER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  7. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 
  8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 
  9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 31 N.m (316 kgf/cm, 23 ft.lbf) 

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

  11. INSTALL VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  12. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER LOWER ABSORBER 
  13. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
  14. INSTALL FRONT RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE LH 
  15. INSTALL FRONT RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH 
  16. INSTALL THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY 
  17. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER LOWER RETAINER 
  18. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  19. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  20. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER PROTECTOR

      Cleaning Area Primer
      1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the front bumper cover and front bumper protector.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        Area Temperature Area Temperature
        Front Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F) Front Bumper Protector 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the front bumper cover excessively.

        2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      2. Apply primer to the installation area of the front bumper protector on the front bumper cover.

        1. Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the installation area of the front bumper protector.

        NOTE:
        • Replace the brush or felt if it is dirty or has become hardened.
        • Do not apply primer to the painted side.
        • Do not touch the front bumper cover until the primer has dried.

        2. Let the primer dry sufficiently.

        NOTE:

        Do not touch applied surfaces until the primer is dry.

        Recommended drying time

        10 minutes or more (at 23°C (73°F))

        3. Confirm that the primer has completely dried by touching the front bumper cover.

      *a Scribed Line - -
      1. Install a new front bumper protector.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the front bumper protector.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install a front bumper protector as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the front bumper protector along the scribed line on the front bumper cover.
        • Press the front bumper protector firmly to install it.
  21. INSTALL NO. 1 LOWER RADIATOR GRILLE 
  22. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER GUARD 
  23. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY 
  24. INSTALL FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Parking Support Brake System) 
  25. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE 
  26. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER PAD LH

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the No. 1 radiator grille seal surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the No. 1 radiator grille seal and front bumper pad LH.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        No. 1 Radiator Grille Seal 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F) Front Bumper Pad LH 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.

        2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the No. 1 radiator grille seal.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      1. Install a new front bumper pad LH.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the No. 1 radiator grille seal surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the front bumper pad LH.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the front bumper pad LH as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the front bumper pad LH along the scribed line on the No. 1 radiator grille seal.
        • Press the front bumper pad LH firmly to install it.
  27. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER PAD RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  28. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR GRILLE SEAL 
  29. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE GARNISH 
  30. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE GARNISH (w/o Heater) 
  31. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE GARNISH (w/ Heater) 
  32. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  33. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER MOULDING 
  34. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE BRACKET 
  35. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER UPPER RETAINER 
  36. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE BRACKET 
  37. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT BUMPER LOWER RETAINER 
  38. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE BRACKET LH 
  39. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE BRACKET RH 
  40. INSTALL NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the front bumper cover and 2 No. 1 moulding tapes.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        WARNING:

      1. Install 2 new No. 1 moulding tapes.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 1 moulding tapes.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 1 moulding tapes as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 1 moulding tape along the scribed line on the front bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 1 moulding tape firmly to install it.
  41. INSTALL FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Parking Support Brake System) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
  42. INSTALL FOG LIGHT COVER LH 
  43. INSTALL FOG LIGHT COVER RH 
  44. INSTALL FOG LIGHT MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
  45. INSTALL FOG LIGHT MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
  46. INSTALL HOOD TO FRONT END PANEL SEAL 
  47. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET 
  48. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (OR FRONT PANEL) EMBLEM 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  49. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP

      Cleaning Area Primer
      1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the front bumper cover and 2 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor clips.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        Front Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F) No. 2 Ultrasonic Sensor Clip 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor clips.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor clips as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor clip along the scribed line on the front bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor clip firmly to install it.

      Cleaning Area Primer
      1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the front bumper cover and each front ultrasonic sensor clip.

        HINT:

        • Press the front ultrasonic sensor clip firmly to install it.
