Reassembly [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL RECEIVER HITCH BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Towing Hitch) 
    1. w/o Activity Mount:
      Fig 1: Receiver Hitch Bracket Sub-Assembly (W/ Towing Hitch) (W/o activity Mount) Tightening Sequence

      1. Install the receiver hitch bracket sub-assembly with bracket with the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 100 N.m (1020 kgf/cm, 74 ft.lbf) 

      2. Connect the connector.
    2. w/ Activity Mount:

      1. Install the receiver hitch bracket sub-assembly with bracket with the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 100 N.m (1020 kgf/cm, 74 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL RECEIVER HITCH CAP (w/ Towing Hitch) 
  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 

    Torque: 46 N.m (469 kgf/cm, 34 ft.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH 
  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH 
  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 
  8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  10. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE LH

  11. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  12. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH RETAINER LH

  13. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH RETAINER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  14. INSTALL BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
  15. INSTALL BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  16. INSTALL REAR BUMPER MOULDING (for Sport Package) 
  17. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sport Package) 
  18. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER (for Type A) 
  19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION (except Sport Package) 
  20. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
  21. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH 
  22. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER LH 
  23. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER RH 
  24. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH RETAINER 
  25. INSTALL NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover and 2 No. 1 moulding tapes.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        Area Temperature Area Temperature
        Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F) No. 1 Moulding Tape 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.

        2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      *a Scribed Line - -
      1. Install 2 new No. 1 moulding tapes.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 1 moulding tapes.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 1 moulding tapes as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 1 moulding tape along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 1 moulding tape firmly to install it.
  26. INSTALL NO. 5 REAR BUMPER PAD

      *A for Type A *B for Type B
      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover and 2 No. 5 rear bumper pads.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        WARNING:

      1. Install 2 new No. 5 rear bumper pads.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 5 rear bumper pads.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 5 rear bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 5 rear bumper pad along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 5 rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  27. INSTALL NO. 3 REAR BUMPER PAD

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover and No. 3 rear bumper pad.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        WARNING:

      1. Install a new No. 3 rear bumper pad.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the No. 3 rear bumper pad.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the No. 3 rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 3 rear bumper pad along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 3 rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  28. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR BUMPER PAD

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover and 2 No. 2 rear bumper pads.

      1. Install 2 new No. 2 rear bumper pads.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 2 rear bumper pads.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 2 rear bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 2 rear bumper pad along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 2 rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  29. INSTALL NO. 4 REAR BUMPER PAD

      Cleaning Area - -
      1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the double-sided tape remaining on the rear bumper cover and 2 No. 4 rear bumper pads.

        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        WARNING:

      1. Install 2 new No. 4 rear bumper pads.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        2. Remove the release paper from the 2 No. 4 rear bumper pads.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        3. Install the 2 No. 4 rear bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 4 rear bumper pad along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 4 rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  30. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR BUMPER PAD

        1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

        3. Install the 2 No. 1 rear bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Apply the No. 1 rear bumper pad along the scribed line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the No. 1 rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  31. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE 
  32. INSTALL REAR SIDE ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Advanced Park) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  33. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Parking Support Brake System) 
    1. except Sport Package:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  37. INSTALL REAR SIDE ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Advanced Park) 
  38. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Parking Support Brake System)
