DTC P1F1C-15: Water Cooling Condenser Refrigerant Temperature Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK WATER COOLING CONDENSER REFRIGERANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY) CIRCUIT 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the A65 water cooling condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (No. 2 air conditioning thermistor assembly) connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Water Cooling Condenser Refrigerant Temperature Sensor (No. 2 Air Conditioning Thermistor Assembly))

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A65-2 (TCHT) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 0 to 5.5 V V

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Clear DTCs

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the A65 water cooling condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (No. 2 air conditioning thermistor assembly) connector.

    • Connect terminals 1 and 2 of the No. 2 air conditioning thermistor assembly connector on the wire harness side.

      *1 Water Cooling Condenser Refrigerant Temperature Sensor (No. 2 Air Conditioning Thermistor Assembly)
      *2 Heat Pump ECU Assembly
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 4 seconds or more.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes

      P1F1C-11 is output A
      P1F1C-15 is output B

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    REPLACE WATER COOLING CONDENSER REFRIGERANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER COOLING CONDENSER REFRIGERANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR - HEAT PUMP ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the A65 water cooling condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (No. 2 air conditioning thermistor assembly) connector.
    • Disconnect the A62 heat pump ECU assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A65-2 (TCHT) - A62-6 (TSCL) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A65-1 (SEG2) - A62-25 (SG-4) Always Below 1 Ω Ω

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEAT PUMP ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER COOLING CONDENSER REFRIGERANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR - HEAT PUMP ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the A65 water cooling condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (No. 2 air conditioning thermistor assembly) connector.
    • Disconnect the A62 heat pump ECU assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A65-2 (TCHT) or A62-6 (TSCL) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEAT PUMP ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]
