DTC P0EC1-11: Refrigerant Outlet Sensor Circuit Short to Ground [08/2023 - ]: Description

The refrigerant outlet sensor (No. 1 air conditioning thermistor assembly) is installed on the No. 1 discharge tube to detect the refrigerant gas temperature from the compressor and is used to control the air conditioning system. The resistance of the refrigerant outlet sensor (No. 1 air conditioning thermistor assembly) changes in accordance with the refrigerant gas temperature from the compressor. Resistance increases as the refrigerant gas temperature drops and decreases as the temperature rises. The heat pump ECU assembly outputs a voltage to the refrigerant outlet sensor (No. 1 air conditioning thermistor assembly) and reads voltage changes that result from the changes in the resistance of the refrigerant outlet sensor (No. 1 air conditioning thermistor assembly).
