DTC P0EBC-15: External Condenser Refrigerant Temperature Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [08/2023 - ]: Description
The external condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (thermostat assembly) is installed on the No. 4 discharge tube to detect the refrigerant gas temperature from the cooler condenser and is used to control the air conditioning system. The resistance of the external condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (thermostat assembly) changes in accordance with the refrigerant gas temperature from the cooler condenser. Resistance increases as the refrigerant gas temperature drops and decreases as the temperature rises. The heat pump ECU assembly outputs a voltage to the external condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (thermostat assembly) and reads voltage changes that result from the changes in the resistance of the external condenser refrigerant temperature sensor (thermostat assembly).
