TRAIL Switch Circuit [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK) 
    1. Check the CAN Bus Check.

      CAN Bus Check 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A
      None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output. A
      DTCs are output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2023 - 10/2024]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2024 - ] 

    Result:

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (AUTO LSD SWITCH) 
    1. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition
      Auto LSD Switch TRAIL switch condition ON or OFF TRAIL mode switch being pushed and held:
      ON
      TRAIL mode switch not operated:
      OFF

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Auto LSD Switch

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The tester display changes according to the TRAIL mode switch operation. A
      The tester display does not change according to the TRAIL mode switch operation. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLES. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2023 - ]

  4. INSPECT TRAIL MODE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2022 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRAIL MODE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRAIL MODE SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the TRAIL mode switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C29-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the TRAIL mode switch connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - TRAIL MODE SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the TRAIL mode switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C59-19 (ALSD) - C29-5 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      C59-19 (ALSD) or C29-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the TRAIL mode switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
