Stop and Start Cancel Switch Circuit [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (STOP&START CANCEL SWITCH) 
    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Stop&Start Cancel Switch.

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Stop&Start Cancel Switch
    2. Read the value when the stop and start system cancel switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is pressed.

      OK

      GTS Display Condition Normal Condition
      Stop&Start Cancel Switch Stop and start system cancel switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is pressed ON
      Stop and start system cancel switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is not pressed OFF

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT STOP AND START SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2022 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STOP AND START SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP AND START SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the stop and start system cancel switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C29-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - STOP AND START SYSTEM CANCEL SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the stop and start system cancel switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C36-5 (ECAN) - C29-6 (S) Always Below 1 Ω
      C36-5 (ECAN) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C29-6 (S) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2022 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
