Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

  2. DRAIN FUEL 
  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [08/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

      1. Remove the clip (A), 2 bolts (B) and 6 screws (C).
      2. Turn the 4 clips (D) and remove the front floor cover LH from the vehicle body.
        NOTE:

        If the 4 clips are not turned when the front floor cover LH is removed, the front floor cover LH or stud bolt may be damaged.

        HINT: 

        Do not remove the clips from the front floor cover LH.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK WIRE

  7. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel vapor containment valve (close tank with bolt valve assembly).

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  8. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  9. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK BREATHER TUBE

      1. Disconnect the fuel tank breather tube from the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  10. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  11. DISCONNECT REAR MAIN MUFFLER HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the appropriate service information , or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.

      1. Support the fuel tank assembly using an engine lifter.

        HINT: 

        Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.

      2. Remove the 5 bolts, fuel tank band sub-assembly and No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly LH.
      3. Lower the engine lifter to remove the fuel tank assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.
        • When removing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.
  13. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tank evaporation tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

      2. Disengage the clamp.
      3. Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.
  15. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE CLAMP

  16. REMOVE FUEL TANK WIRE

  19. REMOVE NO. 6 FUEL TANK CUSHION 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 6 fuel tank cushion is necessary.
