Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
  2. INSTALL NO. 6 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR 
  5. INSTALL FUEL TANK WIRE 
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TUBE CLAMP 
  7. INSTALL FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Engage the 2 clamps to install the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly to the fuel tank assembly.
      2. Engage the clamp.
      3. Connect the fuel tank evaporation tube sub-assembly to the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  8. INSTALL FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  9. INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the appropriate service information , or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.

      1. Set the fuel tank assembly on an engine lifter.
        NOTE:

        Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.

      2. Using the engine lifter, slowly raise the fuel tank assembly, and then temporarily install the fuel tank assembly, fuel tank band sub-assembly and No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly LH with the 5 bolts.
        NOTE:
        • Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.
        • When installing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.
      3. Tighten the 5 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 45 N.m (459 kgf/cm, 33 ft.lbf) 

  10. INSTALL REAR MAIN MUFFLER HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  11. CONNECT FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE ASSEMBLY

      1. Connect the fuel tank filler pipe assembly to the fuel tank assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  12. CONNECT FUEL TANK BREATHER TUBE

      1. Connect the fuel tank breather tube to the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  13. CONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Connect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly to the fuel pipe.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  14. CONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Connect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly to the fuel vapor containment valve (close tank with bolt valve assembly).

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2023 - ]

  15. CONNECT FUEL TANK WIRE 
  16. ADD FUEL 
  17. INSTALL FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ] 

  18. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 
  19. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 

    Bolt 

    Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  20. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2023 - ]
