Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  10. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube - -
      1. Remove the refill plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
      2. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle housing.
      3. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the transaxle housing and drain the automatic transaxle fluid.
      4. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the transaxle housing.

        Torque: 1.7 N.m (17 kgf/cm, 15 in.lbf) 

      5. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the gasket and overflow plug to the transaxle housing.

        HINT: 

        Reuse the old gasket as the overflow plug will be removed again to adjust the automatic transaxle fluid level.

      6. Temporarily install the gasket and refill plug to avoid automatic transaxle fluid spillage.

        HINT: 

        Reuse the old gasket as the refill plug will be removed again to adjust the automatic transaxle fluid level.

  11. SEPARATE ENGINE WIRE

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE CLAMP

  13. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    HINT: 
    Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the water by-pass hose assembly and transmission oil cooler.

  14. DISCONNECT INLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    HINT: 
    Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.

  15. DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    HINT: 
    Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.

  16. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER 
    HINT: 
    Use a container to catch any coolant and automatic transaxle fluid which flow out of the transmission oil cooler.
