Control Pilot Signal Circuit [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CHARGING CURRENT DUTY FROM CHARGER, TIME CYCLE OF CHARGING CURRENT DUTY FROM CHARGER) 
    1. Using the electric vehicle charger cable assembly, plug-in charge the vehicle.
      1. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

        Powertrain > Plug-in Control > Data List 

        Tester Display
        Charging Current Duty from Charger
        Time Cycle of Charging Current Duty from Charger

      2. Turn the ignition switch off.
      3. Disconnect the electric vehicle charger cable assembly.

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (PLUG-IN CHARGE CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK AC CHARGER INLET CABLE (BODY GROUND) 
    1. Open the charging port lid.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m3-5 (GND) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
    3. Close the charging port lid.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY - CHARGING INLET) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Open the charging port lid.
    3. Disconnect the H124 electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m3-4 (CPLT) - H124-3 (CPLT) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      m3-4(CPLT) or H124-3(CPLT) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      m3-5 (GND) - Other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    7. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m3-4 (CPLT) or H124-3 (CPLT) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON with the electric vehicle charger assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    8. Turn the ignition switch off.
    9. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    10. Reconnect the electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    11. Close the charging port lid.

      Result

      Proceed to

  4. INSPECT CHARGING CABLE (ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER CABLE ASSEMBLY) (CPLT TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

    REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

    REPLACE CHARGING CABLE (ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER CABLE ASSEMBLY) 

  5. CHECK AC CHARGER INLET CABLE (BODY GROUND TERMINAL CONNECTION CONDITION) 

    See step  7 [08/2023 - 10/2024], or see step  8 [10/2024 - ]

    REPLACE AC CHARGER INLET CABLE. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

    CONNECT SECURELY 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY - AC CHARGER INLET CABLE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the Hm1 AC charger inlet cable connector.
      NOTE:

      If the Hm1 connector is disconnected with the auxiliary battery connected, P0D56-15 may be detected. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before proceeding work.

    3. Disconnect the H124 electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Hm1-6 (CPLT) - H124-3 (CPLT) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      Hm1-6 (CPLT) or H124-3 (CPLT) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    7. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Hm1-6 (CPLT) or H124-3 (CPLT) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON with the electric vehicle charger assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    8. Turn the ignition switch off.
    9. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    10. Reconnect the electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    11. Reconnect the AC charger inlet cable connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE AC CHARGER INLET CABLE. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
