DTC P1C0F-96: AC Inverter Signal Line Component Internal Failure [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PLUG-IN CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Enter the following menus:

      Powertrain > Plug-in Control > Trouble Codes 

      Procedure1

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      P1C0F-96 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output A

      HINT: 

      • P1C0F-96 may be output as a result of the malfunction indicated by the DTCs above.
        1. The chart above is listed in inspection order of priority.
        2. Check DTCs that are output at the same time by following the listed order. (The main cause of the malfunction can be determined without performing unnecessary inspections.)

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (PLUG-IN CHARGE CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY (CHECK VOLTAGE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the H58 voltage inverter assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      If the H58 connector is disconnected with the auxiliary battery connected, P1CE6-15 may be detected. Therefore, check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before starting the operation.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Procedure1

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H58-2 (IND) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
      H58-1 (VAIN) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
      NOTE:

      f the ignition switch is turned to ON with the voltage inverter assembly connector disconnected, other DTCs will be stored. Therefore, clear the DTCs after checking.

      Result

      Post-procedure1

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    8. Reconnect the voltage inverter assembly connector.

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHARGER COOLING BLOWER - ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the H58 voltage inverter assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      If the H58 connector is disconnected with the auxiliary battery connected, P1CE6-15 may be detected. Therefore, check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before starting the operation.

    3. Disconnect the H124 electric vehicle charger assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H58-6 (SW2) - H124-6 (AIND) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      H58-6 (SW2) and H124-6 (AIND) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. Reconnect the electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    6. Reconnect the voltage inverter assembly connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY (CHECK VOLTAGE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the appropriate service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the H58 voltage inverter assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      If the H58 connector is disconnected with the auxiliary battery connected, P1CE6-15 may be detected. Therefore, check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before starting the operation.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      H58-6 (SW2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      NOTE:

      f the ignition switch is turned to ON with the voltage inverter assembly connector disconnected, other DTCs will be stored. Therefore, clear the DTCs after checking.

      Post-procedure1

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    8. Reconnect the voltage inverter assembly connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE VOLTAGE INVERTER. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHARGER COOLING BLOWER - ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.

    2. Disconnect the H58 voltage inverter assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      If the H58 connector is disconnected with the auxiliary battery connected, P1CE6-15 may be detected. Therefore, check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before starting the operation.

    3. Disconnect the H124 electric vehicle charger assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H58-2 (IND) - H124-60 (AINM) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      H58-1 (VAIN) - H124-56 (VAIN) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      H58-2 (IND) and H124-60 (AINM) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      H58-1 (VAIN) and H124-56 (VAIN) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. Reconnect the electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
    6. Reconnect the voltage inverter assembly connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
