DTC P2600-31: Motor/Generator Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit No Signal [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the oil pump with motor assembly connector.

      HINT: 

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

  3. CHECK FUSE (OIL PMP) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      OIL PMP fuse Always Below 1 Ω Ω

    Post-procedure1

    • Install the OIL PMP fuse.

  4. INSPECT RELAY (OIL PMP) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PMP FUSE - OIL PMP RELAY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      2 (OIL PMP fuse holder) - 3 (OIL PMP relay holder) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      2 (OIL PMP fuse holder) or 3 (OIL PMP relay holder) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PMP RELAY - BODY GROUND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      2 (OIL PMP relay holder) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω Ω
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      B76-4 (L) - 5 (OIL PMP relay holder) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    • Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    • Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A21-3 (OPM1) - B76-3 (OPM1) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A21-3 (OPM1) or B76-3 (OPM1) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    • Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A21-3 (OPM1) or B76-3 (OPM1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and oil pump with motor assembly connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    • Reconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

  12. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (CONTROL THE MOTOR/GENERATOR COOLING OIL PUMP) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Set the Duty ratio to 90%.

      HINT: 

      The active test is not performed when the Duty ratio is 50% or lower or 95% or higher, or the ambient temperature is 0°C (32°F) or lower.
