DTC P2533-14: Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit Low Circuit Short to Ground or Open [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IGR) 
    1. Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List

      Result

      Reault Proceed to
      The value of IGR is ON A
      The value of IGR is OFF B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IGR VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Result
      A21-8 (IGR) - C59-1 (E1) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    • Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C90-36 - A21-8 (IGR) Always Below 1 Ω Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C90-36 or A21-8 (IGR) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    • Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connectors.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C89-36 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C90-41 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the power distribution box assembly connectors.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]
