Check Bus 7 Line [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN MAIN BUS LINES 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C64-5 (CA8H) - C64-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 70 Ω

    1. Disconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C64-5 (CA8H) - C58-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      C64-6 (CA8L) - C58-4 (CG)

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS LINE (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the C77 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C77-2 (CAN+) - C58-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      C77-1 (CAN-) - C58-4 (CG)

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN COMPATIBLE OPTIONAL DEVICES

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU) - CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 

  7. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C64-5 (CA8H) - C58-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      C64-6 (CA8L) - C58-16 (BAT)

      Result

  8. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the C77 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C77-2 (CAN+) - C58-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      C77-1 (CAN-) - C58-16 (BAT)

  9. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C64-5 (CA8H) - C64-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

  10. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS LINES (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU)) 
    1. Reconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the C77 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C77-2 (CAN+) - C77-1 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN COMPATIBLE OPTIONAL DEVICES

  11. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN MAIN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C64-5 (CA8H) - C64-6 (CA8L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    1. Reconnect the C64 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the C77 option connector (bus buffer ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C77-2 (CAN+) - C77-1 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
