DTC P3000-00: Hybrid/EV Battery Discharge Control Malfunction [10/2022 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)
Pre-procedure1
- None.
- Check for DTCs.
Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes
Result
Result Proceed to Only P3000-00 or P3000-16 is output A P3000-00 or P3000-16 and other DTCs are output B
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
B
GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2024 - ]
Result:
A
See step 2
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE)
Pre-procedure1
- None.
- Check for DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes
Result
Result Proceed to DTCs are not output A DTCs are output B
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
B
GO TO DTC CHART (SFI SYSTEM). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2023 - 10/2024] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2024 - ]
Result:
A
See step 3
- CHECK AMOUNT OF FUEL
Pre-procedure1
- None.
- Check the amount of fuel by referring to the fuel gauge in the meter.
HINT:
Add fuel until the low fuel level warning light turns off.
Result
Result Proceed to Proper amount of fuel is in the tank. A There is no fuel in the tank. B
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
B
REFUEL VEHICLE
Result:
A
See step 4
- CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA
Pre-procedure1
- None.
- Read the freeze frame data item "Shift Position" of DTC P3000-00.
Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes
Powertrain > Hybrid Control
Tester Display Shift Position NOTE:- When the freeze frame data "Shift Position" was N, DTC P3000-00 may be stored due to the vehicle was left with shift state neutral (N) and the HV battery could not be charged.
- If DTC "P3000-00" only is output, charge the HV battery without replacing the HV battery if necessary.
Result
Proceed to NEXT
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
NEXT
See step 5
- CHECK ENGINE START
Pre-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
- Check if the engine starts.
HINT:
- Depressing the accelerator pedal with shift state in park (P) will cause the engine to start.
- Turning the ignition switch to ON (READY) and off repeatedly while the SOC is low may cause the SOC to drop further, resulting in DTC P3000-16 being stored. Charge the HV battery using the THS charger as necessary.
- Cranking the engine once causes the SOC to drop approximately 1%.
- Charging the HV battery once (10 minutes) using the THS charger restores the SOC approximately 2%.
Result
Result Proceed to The engine starts. A The engine does not start. B
Post-procedure1
- If the engine does not start, turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
A
LEAVE VEHICLE WITH PARK (P) SELECTED, AND CHARGE HV BATTERY BY IDLING UNTIL IDLING STOPS
Result:
B
See step 6
- CLEAR DTC
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
Result
Proceed to NEXT Result:
NEXT
CHARGE HV BATTERY (CHECK THAT ENGINE STARTS). Refer to CHARGING [10/2022 - ]
