DTC P2530-12: IG2 Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off and turn on the high beam headlights for 30 seconds. This will remove the surface charge from the auxiliary battery.
    • Measure the auxiliary battery voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      Positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal - Negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 20°C (68°F), Ignition switch off 12.0 V or higher V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • None.

  2. CHARGE OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Charge or replace the auxiliary battery.

  3. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 15 seconds or more.
    • Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      P2530-12 is output A
      P2530-12 is not output B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

    • None.

    Post-procedure1

    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      U0129-87, U0140-87, U0151-87, U0164-87, U1107-87 or U1170-87 is output A
      None of the above conditions are met B
    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 08/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  6. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Condition

      C59-26 (IGP) - C59-1 (E1) Ignition switch off

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  7. CHECK ECM 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Condition

      C59-26 (IGP) - C59-1 (E1) Ignition switch off

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      9 V or higher A
      Below 9 V B

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the ECM connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 08/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  8. INSPECT TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (SHIFT CONTROL ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Disconnect the transmission floor shift assembly (shift Control ECU)
    • Remove the IGP NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition
      C59-26 (IGP) - C59-1 (E1) Ignition switch off

      Result

      9 V or higher A
      Below 9 V B

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the transmission floor shift assembly (shift Control ECU)
    • Reconnect the ECM connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    Result: 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (SHIFT CONTROL ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  9. INSPECT RELAY (IGP NO. 1)

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - IGP RELAY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    • Remove the IGP No. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    Post-procedure1

    • Install the IGP No. 1 relay.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    1. Check for intermittent problems.

      Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2022 - ]

      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the IGP NO. 1 relay.
      2. When the ignition switch is ON (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the IGP NO. 1 relay.

    Result: 

    NG
