DTC P0ABF-00: Hybrid/EV Battery Current Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      One of the following applies:
      • Only P0ABF-00 is output.
      • One or more DTCs other than P0AFC-00 and P0AFC-96 are also output.
      		 A
      P0AFC-00 or P0AFC-96 is also output. B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2022 - 10/2024]  , or Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2024 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR - NO. 1 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX ASSEMBLY)

    REPLACE HV BATTERY (WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  5. SIMULATION TEST 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Hybrid/EV Battery SOC

      HINT: 

      If the "Hybrid/EV Battery SOC" value is 60% or more, leave the vehicle idling with the ignition switch on (READY) and the shift position in N until "Hybrid Battery SOC" is 60% or less.

    • Apply the parking brake and secure the wheels using chocks.
      NOTE:

      Perform this test with the AUTO function (shift-linked function) of the electric parking brake system off.

      HINT: 

      When the parking brake indicator (red) is illuminated after the electric parking brake switch assembly has been pulled to the lock side, the maximum amount of braking force is applied if the electric parking brake switch assembly is pulled to the lock side one more time.

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    • With the brake pedal depressed with your left foot, change the shift position to D and repeat the following operations for 1 minute or more.

      HINT: 

      Depress and release the accelerator pedal in 5 second cycles (2.5 second intervals).

      1. With the brake pedal depressed with your left foot, depress the accelerator pedal.
      2. Release the accelerator pedal.
