DTC P0914-2B: Gear Shift Position Circuit "A" Range/Performance Signal Cross Coupled [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (TRANSMISSION) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P0914-2B is output A
      Only P0914-2B and P1789-00 are output B
      Only P0914-2B, P1753-87 and P1789-00 are output C

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (ABSOLUTE ANGLE SENSOR VALUE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Absolute Angle Sensor Value 1
      Absolute Angle Sensor Value 2

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The difference between the value of Absolute Angle Sensor Value 1 and Absolute Angle Sensor Value 2 is -1.9 deg or more and 1.9 deg or less A
      None of the above conditions are met B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  3. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.
    • Disconnect the GTS.
    • Leave the vehicle as is for 60 seconds or more.
      NOTE:
      • Do not connect the GTS.
      • Do not depress the brake pedal.
      • Do not open/close any of the doors.

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 1 minute or more.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes

      P0914-2B is output B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

  5. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BAT1 TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B58 shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B58-8 (BAT1) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V V

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT CONTROL ECU - SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the C35 transmission floor shift assembly (shift control ECU) connector.
    • Disconnect the B58 shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C35-24 (CA4H) - B58-4 (CA4H) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C35-10 (CA4L) - B58-3 (CA4L) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      C35-24 (CA4H) or B58-4 (CA4H) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C35-10 (CA4L) or B58-3 (CA4L) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.
    • Connect the transmission floor shift assembly (shift control ECU) connector.

  8. INSPECT SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the C35 transmission floor shift assembly (shift control ECU) connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C35-24 (CA4H) - C35-10 (CA4L) Ignition switch off 108 to 132 Ω Ω

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the transmission floor shift assembly (shift control ECU) connector.

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (SHIFT CONTROL ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

    REPLACE SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BAT1 TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B58 shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B58-8 (BAT1) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V V

      Result

      Proceed to

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (B1E1 TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the H194 second power supply remote parking circuit connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      H194-1 (B1E1) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V V

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the second power supply remote parking circuit connector.

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECOND POWER SUPPLY REMOTE PARKING CIRCUIT - SHIFT ACTUATOR ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the H194 second power supply remote parking circuit connector.
    • Disconnect the B58 shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      H194-8 (BOE) - B58-8 (BAT1) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      H194-8 (BOE) or B58-8 (BAT1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the second power supply remote parking circuit connector.
    • Connect the shift control actuator assembly (shift actuator ECU) connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SECOND POWER SUPPLY REMOTE PARKING CIRCUIT. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]
