DTC P0606-94: Control Module Processor Unexpected Operation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0606-94) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
    • Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    • Start the engine.
    • With the vehicle stopped, repeat the accelerator pedal operation (press the accelerator pedal from a state where it is not depressed) several times.
    • Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

      DTCs are not output A
      P0606-94 is output B

    Post-procedure1

    • None.

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCELERATOR PEDAL (WITH SENSOR) ROD ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the accelerator pedal (with sensor) rod assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      A13-6 (VPA) - A16-55 (VPA) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-3 (VPA2) - A16-58 (VPA2) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-4 (VCPA) - A16-57 (VCPA) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-1 (VCP2) - A16-60 (VCP2) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-5 (EPA) - A16-56 (EPA) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-2 (EPA2) - A16-59 (EPA2) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      A13-6 (VPA) or A16-55 (VPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A13-3 (VPA2) or A16-58 (VPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A13-4 (VCPA) or A16-57 (VCPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A13-1 (VCP2) or A16-60 (VCP2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A13-5 (EPA) or A16-56 (EPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A13-2 (EPA2) or A16-59 (EPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
