DTC P2796-12: Electromagnetic Oil Pump Circuit Short to Battery [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB).

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)
    • Check vehicle control history.

      Result

      Result Proceed to

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - OTHER TERMINALS)

    (Engine Stop and Start ECU)

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C36-9 (EMOP) - Other terminals* Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *: Except A24-8 (GND1) terminal

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    GO TO BACKUP BOOST CONVERTER CIRCUIT. Refer to  Backup Boost Converter Circuit [10/2022 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - OTHER TERMINALS) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - TRANSMISSION WIRE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    • Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      C36-9 (EMOP) or B25-29 (EMP+) - Other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Post-procedure1

    • None.

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EGND TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    • Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
