1. Read the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   P0012-00 and other DTCs are output	A
   P0012-00 is output	B

   HINT: 

   If any DTCs other than P0012-00 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

• Remove the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

  HINT: 

  Refer to REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

• Check if the eccentric shaft of the camshaft timing gear assembly rotates smoothly.

  NOTE:

  If the camshaft is at a position where a valve is about to open, the eccentric shaft may become difficult to rotate.

• Perform "Inspection After Repair" after removing the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

  HINT:
