Removal [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [09/2014 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [09/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (for 8AR-FTS) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (for 2GR-FKS) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for 8AR-FTS) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FKS) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  6. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 8AR-FTS) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2GR-FKS) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (for 2GR-FKS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  10. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  11. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE (for 2GR-FKS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  12. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

    4. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and compressor and magnetic clutch.

      HINT: 

      Remove the compressor and magnetic clutch from the vehicle with the stud bolts remaining in the compressor and magnetic clutch.

  13. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 2GR-FKS) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. for Type A:
      1. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

      2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt and compressor and magnetic clutch.

        HINT: 

        Remove the compressor and magnetic clutch from the vehicle with the stud bolt remaining in the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    4. for Type B:
      1. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

      2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt and compressor and magnetic clutch.

        HINT: 

        Remove the compressor and magnetic clutch from the vehicle with the stud bolt remaining in the compressor and magnetic clutch.
