Inspection [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL1) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (SL1))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the shift solenoid valve (SL1) connector and check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      OK

      The solenoid moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (SL1).

  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL2) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (SL2))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the shift solenoid valve (SL2) connector and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (SL2).

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (S1) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Shift solenoid valve (S1) connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve (S1) body 15 to 25°C (59 to 77°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (S1))
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve (S1) connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve (S1) body and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (S1).

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (S3) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Shift solenoid valve (S3) connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve (S3) body 15 to 25°C (59 to 77°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (S3))
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve (S3) connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve (S3) body and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (S3).

  5. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (S2) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (S2))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Shift solenoid valve (S2) connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve (S2) body 15 to 25°C (59 to 77°F) 11 to 15 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve (S2) connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve (S2) body and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (S2).

  6. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (S4) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Shift solenoid valve (S4) connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve (S4) body 15 to 25°C (59 to 77°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      (Shift Solenoid Valve (S4))
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve (S4) connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve (S4) body and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (S4).

  7. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SR) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Shift Solenoid Valve (SR))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Shift solenoid valve (SR) connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve (SR) body 15 to 25°C (59 to 77°F) 11 to 15 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the shift solenoid valve (SR) connector, and a negative (-) lead to the shift solenoid valve (SR) body and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve (SR).

  8. INSPECT LINE PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Line Pressure Control Solenoid Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the line pressure control solenoid assembly connector and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the line pressure control solenoid assembly.

  9. INSPECT LOCK UP CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Lock Up Control Solenoid Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the lock up control solenoid assembly connector and check the operation of the valve.

      OK

      The valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the lock up control solenoid assembly.
