Shift solenoid valve SLT controls the transmission line pressure for smooth transmission operation based on signals from the throttle position sensor and vehicle speed sensor. The ECM adjusts the current to shift solenoid valve SLT to control the hydraulic line pressure coming from the primary regulator valve.
Appropriate line pressure assures smooth shifting with varying engine outputs.

Transmission Component Slipping |
1. Diagnosis Condition 2. Malfunction Status 3. Malfunction Time 4. Other
- Engine coolant temperature is 40°C (104°F) or more, ATF temperature is 10°C (50°F) or more and the vehicle is driven with the shift lever in D (no malfunctions are detected in the shift solenoid valve S1, S2, S3, S4, SR, SL1, SL2 and SLT, transmission revolution sensors (NT, SP2), coolant temperature sensor, knock control sensor, electronic throttle, ATF temperature sensor).
- The difference in speed between the turbine and output shaft is higher than the normal condition in each shift position.
- 0 seconds
- 2-trip detection logic
|
- Shift solenoid valve SLT remains open or closed
- Shift solenoid valve S1, S2, S3, S4 or SL2 remains open or closed
- Gear 6 incorrect ratio (sequence valve) or 1-2 shift valve is stuck
- Transmission valve body assembly is blocked
- Automatic transmission with transfer assembly (clutch, brake, gear, etc.)
