Monitor Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Lexus RC 350, 2017 Lexus RC 300, 2016 Lexus RC 350, 2016 Lexus RC 300, and 2015 Lexus RC 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The transmission revolution sensor (SP2) monitors the output shaft speed. The ECM controls the gearshift point and the lock up timing based on signals from the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) and throttle position sensor.

If the ECM detects no signal from the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) even while the vehicle is moving, it will conclude that the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) is malfunctioning. The ECM will then illuminate the MIL and store this DTC.
