DTC P21CF-13: Cylinder 1 Injector "B" Circuit Open; DTC P21D0-13: Cylinder 2 Injector "B" Circuit Open; DTC P21D1-13: Cylinder 3 Injector "B" Circuit Open; DTC P21D2-13: Cylinder 4 Injector "B" Circuit Open [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P21CF-13, P21D0-13, P21D1-13 OR P21D2-13) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P21CF-13, P21D0-13, P21D1-13 or P21D2-13 is output A
      P21CF-13, P21D0-13, P21D1-13 and P21D2-13 are output B

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY)

    (to Port Fuel Injector Assembly)
    1. Disconnect the port fuel injector assembly connector.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K5-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      K6-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      K7-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      K8-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the port fuel injector assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K5-2 - F67-57 (#10) Always Below 1 Ω
      K6-2 - F67-54 (#20) Always Below 1 Ω
      K7-2 - F67-55 (#30) Always Below 1 Ω
      K8-2 - F67-56 (#40) Always Below 1 Ω
      K5-2 or F67-57 (#10) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K6-2 or F67-54 (#20) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K7-2 or F67-55 (#30) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K8-2 or F67-56 (#40) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (RESISTANCE) 
    1. Inspect the port fuel injector assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the port fuel injector assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 10/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2018 - 11/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2019 - ]

    Result:

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    REPLACE PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the port fuel injector assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2G-3 - K5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-3 - K6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-3 - K7-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-3 - K8-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-3 or K5-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-3 or K6-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-3 or K7-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-3 or K8-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE SEMICONDUCTOR POWER INTEGRATION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]
