DTC P0351-13: Ignition Coil "A" Circuit Open; DTC P0352-13: Ignition Coil "B" Circuit Open; DTC P0353-13: Ignition Coil "C" Circuit Open; DTC P0354-13: Ignition Coil "D" Circuit Open [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0351-13, P0352-13, P0353-13 OR P0354-13) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Shuffle the arrangement of the ignition coil assemblies (among No. 1 to No. 4 cylinders).
      NOTE:

      Do not change the location of the connectors.

    6. Perform a simulation test.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Same DTC output A
      Different ignition coil DTC output B

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the ignition coil assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 10/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2018 - 11/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2019 - ]

    Result: 

    REPLACE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY)

    (to Ignition Coil Assembly)
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F73-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F68-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F74-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F69-1 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F73-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F74-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F69-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F73-2 (IGF) - F67-101 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-2 (IGF) - F67-101 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F74-2 (IGF) - F67-101 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F69-2 (IGF) - F67-101 (IGF1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F73-3 (IGT1) - F67-42 (IGT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F68-3 (IGT2) - F67-41 (IGT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F74-3 (IGT3) - F67-40 (IGT3) Always Below 1 Ω
      F69-3 (IGT4) - F67-39 (IGT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      F73-2 (IGF) or F67-101 (IGF1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-2 (IGF) or F67-101 (IGF1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-2 (IGF) or F67-101 (IGF1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F69-2 (IGF) or F67-101 (IGF1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F73-3 (IGT1) or F67-42 (IGT1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F68-3 (IGT2) or F67-41 (IGT2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-3 (IGT3) or F67-40 (IGT3) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2G-4 - F73-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F68-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F74-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 - F69-1 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      2G-4 or F73-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-4 or F68-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-4 or F74-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2G-4 or F69-1 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
