Daytime Running Light Relay Circuit [10/2015 - 10/2018]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AutoLeveling / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A32 clearance light assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-3 (DRL) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the A36 headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A36-8 (RLD2) - A32-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A36-8 (RLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the clearance light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2018]

    2. Inspect the clearance light assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - 10/2018]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2018] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2018] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A3 clearance light assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-3 (DRL) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH - CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A7 headlight light control ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A7-8 (RLD2) - A3-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A7-8 (RLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  7. INSPECT CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the clearance light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2018]

    2. Inspect the clearance light assembly RH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - 10/2018]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2018]
