DTC P0325-11: Knock Sensor 1 Bank 1 or Single Sensor Circuit Short to Ground [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR)

    (to Knock Control Sensor)
    1. Disconnect the knock control sensor connector.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E1-2 - E1-1 Engine switch on (IG) 4.5 to 5.5 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Inspect the knock control sensor.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the knock control sensor.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 10/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2018 - 11/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2019 - ]

    Result:

    REPLACE KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the knock control sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E1-2 or F67-124 (KNK1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0325-11) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    10. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P0325-11 is output B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2015 - ]

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]
