Kick Down Switch Circuit [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A53 kick down switch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A53-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the kick down switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 11/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Kick Down Switch Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (E) - 2 (KD) Continuously press
      (Kick down switch is on)
      Below 1 Ω
      Released
      (Kick down switch is off)
      10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Install the kick down switch assembly.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)

      Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - 11/2017]

    2. Disconnect the A70 ECM connector.
    3. Measure resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A70-14 (KD) - Body ground Fully depressed
      (Kick down switch is on)
      Below 1 Ω
      Released
      (Kick down switch is off)
      10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2014 - 11/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (KICK DOWN SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM)
