Inspection [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Lexus RC 350, 2017 Lexus RC 300, 2016 Lexus RC 350, 2016 Lexus RC 300, and 2015 Lexus RC 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- INSPECT FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR) NOTE:
- Do not remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
- If a fuel pressure sensor is removed, replace the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (fuel pressure sensor) with a new one.
- Check the fuel pressure sensor output voltage.
- Apply 5 V between terminals 3 (VC) and 1 (E2).
*a Component without harness connected
(Fuel Pressure Sensor)*b Voltage applied between terminals NOTE:- Be careful when connecting the leads as the fuel pressure sensor may be damaged if the leads are connected to the wrong terminals.
- Do not apply more than 6 V to terminals 3 (VC) and 1 (E2).
HINT:
If a stable power supply is not available, use 4 1.2 V nickel-metal hydride batteries or equivalent.
- Measure the voltage between terminals.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (PR) - 1 (E2) Pressure not applied to fuel pressure sensor Approximately 0.5 V* *: The output voltage changes depending on the voltage applied to the terminals. Output voltage = (0.1 x Voltage applied to terminals)
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (fuel pressure sensor).
