Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  2. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to REPLACEMENT [11/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2024 - ]
  4. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  6. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  7. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

  8. REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY

      1. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 4 bolts and air tube assembly from the intercooler assembly.
      2. Remove the air tube gasket from the intercooler assembly.
  9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY GUARD

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

  22. REMOVE NO. 6 INTERCOOLER COOLING WATER HOSE

  23. REMOVE INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the 4 nuts and bolts to separate the intercooler assembly from the intake manifold and No. 2 air tube.
      2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt and No. 2 turbo pressure sensor from the intercooler assembly.
      3. Remove the No. 2 air tube gasket from the intercooler assembly.
      4. Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket from the intake manifold.
