DTC C0613-19: Right Electric Parking Brake Actuator Circuit Current Above Threshold [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Procedure1

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Pre-procedure1

    2. Disconnect the fG1 and f1 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connectors.

      Procedure2

    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

      Procedure3

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *c to Parking Brake Actuator Assembly RH - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      fG1-1 - f1-2 (RE+) Always Below 1 Ω
      fG1-1 or f1-2 (RE+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      fG1-2 - f1-1 (RE-) Always Below 1 Ω
      fG1-2 or f1-1 (RE-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Make sure the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    2. Disconnect the A38 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the f1 parking brake actuator assembly RH connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-13 (MRR+) - f1-2 (RE+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-13 (MRR+) or f1-2 (RE+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A38-12 (MRR-) - f1-1 (RE-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-12 (MRR-) or f1-1 (RE-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. None

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

  4. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Make sure the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    3. Disconnect the f1 parking brake actuator assembly RH connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f1-2 (RE+) - f1-1 (RE-) Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the fG1 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      fG1-1 - fG1-2 Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

    REPLACE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B

    1. Disconnect the fG1 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A38 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
