DTC C060B-12: Left Electric Parking Brake Actuator Control Circuit Short to Battery [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Make sure the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    3. Disconnect the f4 parking brake actuator assembly LH connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f4-2 (LE+) - f4-1 (LE-) Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the fG3 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to No. 2 Parking Brake Wire Assembly)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      fG3-1 - fG3-2 Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the fG3 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A38 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector *b to No. 2 Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly)
      *c to No. 2 Parking Brake Wire Assembly - -

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      fG3-1 or A38-3 (MRL+) - Body ground Always Below 1 V
      fG3-2 or A38-2 (MRL-) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 2 SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
