DTC P2600-31: Motor/Generator Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit No Signal [11/2021 - 03/2024]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the oil pump with motor assembly connector.

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [11/2021 - ]

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

    CONNECT SECURELY

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK FUSE (OIL PMP) 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      OIL PMP fuse Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the OIL PMP fuse to the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FUSE (OIL PMP) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT RELAY (OIL PMP) 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the OIL PMP relay.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OIL PMP RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PMP FUSE - OIL PMP RELAY) 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (OIL PMP fuse) - 3 (OIL PMP relay) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (OIL PMP fuse) or 3 (OIL PMP relay) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

    4. Install the OIL PMP relay.
    5. Install the OIL PMP fuse.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PMP RELAY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (OIL PMP relay) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

    3. Install the OIL PMP relay.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - OIL PMP RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    2. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B30-4 (L) - 5 (OIL PMP relay) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B30-4 (L) or 5 (OIL PMP relay) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

    4. Install the OIL PMP relay.
    5. Reconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PMP RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-4 (OPM2) - 1 (OIL PMP relay) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-4 (OPM2) or 1 (OIL PMP relay) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force when using the probes of the tester to perform the inspection. If excessive force is used, the terminals will be damaged.

    4. Install the OIL PMP relay.
    5. Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B30-1 (OPG) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-15 (NOPM) - B30-2 (NOPM) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-15 (NOPM) or B30-2 (NOPM) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Oil Pump with Motor Assembly)

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-3 (OPM1) - B30-3 (OPM1) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-3 (OPM1) or B30-3 (OPM1) - Body ground and other terminals Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-3 (OPM1) or B30-3 (OPM1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and oil pump with motor assembly connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.
    8. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    9. Reconnect the oil pump with motor assembly connector.
    10. Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  12. INSPECT OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the oil pump with motor assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Oil Pump with Motor Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (OPM1) - 4 (L) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (OPM1) - Body ground Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Install the oil pump with motor assembly.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]
